Gap Year Ideas

There's a lot you can do for your gap year. The three most popular things to do are volunteering, going on a holiday and working. Each of these has its own benefits and since a year is a relatively long amount of time, some people like to combine two of the three or all three even for their gap year.

Working during your gap year is a great way to earn money for when you are going to university. It's going to be difficult to work and study at the same time, therefore it's always great to have some spare cash at your disposal. Even if you think you will be able to support yourself while you'll be in university, you can still work during your gap year and buy some new gadgetry for your studies, such as a new tablet or a laptop that would enhance (or at some occasions not) your learning.

Volunteering is another great idea for your gap year. If you want to get some experience in your field of study or future job, you may as well try this out. Some places even offer money for volunteering, so it's a win-win situation. Volunteering can also leave you feeling good in a spiritual way, because at the end of the day you've done something good, right? You've helped the less fortunate learn new things, or helped in building a house for an orphanage.

Some people decide to go on a holiday trip around the world for their gap year. This is a good way to discover yourself and come in peace with your inner specialist. This may leave you broke or it may cost you nothing, it depends on the method of travel you choose and the accommodation you choose to stay in. It can be a dangerous experience as well, therefore insurance considered as a vital part of this idea for a gap year.
